Summary: I Love our V-smile

Review: My 5 year old son got this for his birthday about a week ago and hasn't put it down! He now walks around the house spelling! YEAH! As a parent who has always said NO video games I am so glad he got this! In the car, Out to dinner...no more kid under the table when he's done eating before everyone else! The batteries are every 4-5 days but that's pretty good for the time spent playing!

Summary: Great Must Buy Toy!

Review: I bought the V-Smile Pocket for my son's 3rd birthday and he immediately fell in love with it! I really love the games as they are educational yet interesting. My son requests this toy ("wee smile") more than any other we have and can play alone. The pocket allows you to connect the unit to the television, although my connection cords do not seem to work properly so I'll have to contact support. Also, I want to note that the pocket version will not accept the joystick for the home unit so you are stuck using the smaller keypad included and the batteries do not work very long (less than one evening of decent use) so I am considering buying the $25 charger. Of course this adds to the cost! Personally, I wish that I would have purchased the home unit as both issues would have been remedied. I thought that this unit would be great for portabiltiy, but now he also has a GBA which is a great portable unit. I do highly recommend the V Smile, whether you buy the pocket or home unit.

Summary: A GREAT HANDHELD EDUCATIONAL UNIT

Review: We purchaed the handheld last month and my daughter loves it. We also have the console unit. My children love taking this with them on car rides and to the grandparents house. I wish this came out first and we may have purchased two of these for our children instead of the console. The pocket requires a little more coordination than the joystick with the console. My two year old does well with the console joystick where he can't maneuver the pocket. My four and five year old seem to like the pocket better. I love the Vsmile education games. I love the praise the games give them and helps to build their confidence while learning also. They aren't so competitive. As we have the leapsters as well, I feel these are both great products and you can't go wrong with any of them.

Summary: Not happy with the graphics

Review: I purchased the V Smile pocket as a Christmas present for my 4 year old son, and decided I had better test it out before Christmas morning to make sure it was working. Boy am I glad I did. He already has a game boy advance that we allow him to play for half an hour a day, and it has extremely crisp, clear graphics. The V Smile pockets' graphics are not so good. I had purchased two cartridges to go with it (Elmo and Pooh) and on both of them whenever the character moved at all he got blurry. And if you are in a part of the game that has a scrolling screen the ENTIRE SCREEN is blurry until you stop. I think this is a really great concept for a toy, but I think it could use some tweaking. I returned this. I think I might try a Leapster L-Max and see if the graphics are any cleaner on that.

Summary: great game, if you don't mind hitting reset every 2 minutes!

Review: We have the Vsmile and the Vsmile pocket. Both great games, but you need to push the little pinhole-sized 'reset' thing in the back like every 2 minutes to keep the game working. VERY FRUSTRATING!
