Summary: Excellent Toy for a 4-Year-Old
Date: 2005-12-15
Rating: 4
Review: We purchased the Pixter System for my 4-year-old daughter, and absolutely loves it. She enjoys drawing, both with the free draw features and over the pre-colored options. I could see the system being a little to basic for older children, in the 6-8 year old range. We have not yet tried any of the software selections, beyond the basic package.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars, rather than 5, is I think it has some room for future improvement. It would be nice if it featured the ability to save more than one art creation at a time, and even better if it were possible to use removable storage to bring that art from the Pixter to the computer. It may save us on paper, but my daughter would love to be able to display her creations.

Review: I bought this for my daughter's sixth birthday. They reel you in with the game selections, however, the games are ridiculous. You can't really do anything other than draw on the screen. The icons are confusing. I would not recommend this item to anybody. Don't even THINK about trying the digital camera you can buy as an accessory for $40. The pictures are terribly unclear and fuzzy. I say put your money into a Gameboy or Leap pad. This is a terribly outdated toy and not worth $5.00.

Review: We got this for our 4 year old son who is very busy and he loves it. He actually sat and played with it for over 2 hours the other day. It has so many games and options. He loves to make his own stamps and he creates great pictures. The stylus and controls are easy to use and he picked it up very quickly. I am very impressed with this toy!

Review: i had purchased this toy for my 4 year old newphew. He loved this games and played with it for hours until the battery dies less than 24 hours later and the game is now borke for some odd reason 1 week later. I am so dissapointed becasue i bought this games for over 80 dollars to now find it does'nt work properly.
i think overall its a great game for someone thats alittle older than the recomended age.

Summary: WOW!! Pixter is best money ever spent!!!

Review: I HIGHLY recommend for you to purchase the Pixter. It is wonderful. My husband and I bought this last year for our then 4 year old son. Not only was it his favorite "Christmas Day" toy (and trust me he received about a million other toys that day!) but it has been his most favorite toy all year through. He will pick it up constantly and just start playing it. We definitely always bring it with us shopping and on trips. I found that designating a special backpack for his Pixter, game cartridges, GameBoy and its cartridges works out better than a regular specially made case, but that's just my opionion. We purchased the hard shell case for the Pixter also, and it is very durable, but I have just found the backpack to be more convenient. As for Pixter's durablity, my son has dropped his several times, tosses it on the couch, you name it and the thing still runs as brand new. Batteries last long also. Not only is this a FUN toy, but it's educational as well. My son has gained many, many fun-filled hours from the Pixter. It is one of the best things we have bought for him that has been so well worth the money. He is 5 years old now and continues to have this as one of his all-time favorite toys!! Buy it...you will be VERY happy you did! And so will the child in your life!
