Review: I bought this for my daughter last year and it was a waste of money. I thought she would enjoy making this and she was bored immediately.

Review: I bought it for my son's 6th birthday. It is an excellent toy to learn basics about chemistry, mixing colors, growing crystals. He used it numerously (you should make sure that you save the dyes in the bottles provided) and learned quickly to play independently.

Review: You should buy this because it can help you in science. It's fun to make crystals and do the experiments. It was fun for me because the crystals start out hard and become big and squishy and end up hard with the colors that you add to them. (From a 7 and 5 year old). Mom agrees this was a fun project to do with them!

Review: I am a microbiologist and worked years in a lab and know exactly how cheap these materials are, BUT the kids loved it! The bottom line is that if I had brought them the same materials and used food colouring in the pantry, they would have not have had half the interst. Is it the box, the wrapping? Who knows. My hope was to have some fun with science and to introduce the idea of scientific exploration as a joy and this silly kit works. The lesson ideas help you guide them in an age appropiate way and along with extra food colouring from my pantry (arguing over the yellow) we have been able to use this 3 time on rainy days with much enthusiasm. If you want to introduce science as something fun, these kits do the trick. I will certianly purchase more in the future.

Review: I have a 6 year old boy and 5 year old girl and we all enjoyed the "My First Science Kit". Easy instructions and the kids loved it. My children both ask a lot of questions and wanted a chemistry kit, they love this. I would highly recommend it.
